Norwich Lads Amateur Boxing
WELCOME TO NORWICH LADS BOXING CLUB
Norwich Lads Amateur Boxing Club is the longest running boxing club in Norwich. We were founded in 1918 by John Henry Dien with the aim of giving young people a purpose and identity through a place to learn the art of boxing. Over the years, it has been in the hands of many custodians who volunteer their time to this great club, allowing it to continue to carry John’s vision and values today.

Here we have Danny Kett v Georgie Smith in the 1991 Eastern Counties Championships, with the cornerman and coach being our present day Head Coach.

The Sadd brothers were early members of Norwich Lads Club. Ginger went on to become one of the most successful boxers to come out of Norwich and similarly Dick had many boxing achievements.

About norwich lads boxing
Chief Constable of Norwich John Dain founded Norwich Lads Club in 1918. He gave children who needed a purpose in life a new hobby and outlet for their energy. Norwich Lads Club was the first of its kind anywhere and we are truly grateful for the legacy that John left.
